Been Scrappin'

Yep..I've managed to scrap a few more pages in the last couple days. Been working on the ones of Ky's birthday for several weeks...couldn't find the "right" papers for the longest time. Finally found something to work with a bit of recoloring.

Tonight I also scrapped a page for my chat at SBB. I've never been too good at scrapping things like this, but I do like how this one came out of our trip to Sea World. For once I got pictures of US and not just animals. lol though..the ONE picture of the back of my head with the girls, is the ONLY picture taken of me all day! lol What can ya do when you're the picture taker? ha

{House news}

Well, we were supposed to close on BOTH houses next Thursday and then have our stuff in storage delivered next Friday. We were sooo looking forward to it, but.... well today the relocation company said they can't get us the money from the closing in TX for 72 hours! We need the money from that house to close on the one here (or we'd have to do some REAL digging into some things to get enough to cover all the costs, and we just don't want to break into investments and such), and the lender said they won't let us do a dry closing with a statement that says the money is on the way... so alas..we had to push back the closing here till the next Tuesday to give enough time for everything. :-( Thankfully the builder here was actually happy about the delay (giving him a little extra time). Sucks for us, but I suppose we'll live.

When we went by on Wed, they were laying carpet and building the back porch. Most of everything inside was just about done. I finally took a few new pics...

{And a few funnies}

I'm not feeling so good lately - we all (except Alyssa) seem to be catching some really yucky chest cold. So today we were about to run to the store and I told Alyssa we needed to be quick because I wasn't feeling good...she said "Well, mommy would you like me to try and drive?" UMMM NO! lol (she's 6!) When I told her I didn't think that would be such a good idea, she said "yeah, I need some lessons and we might get a ticket." HAHAHAHAHA what a silly girl

AND..then tonight after I put Ky in bed I jumped in the shower real quick...doing my thing..washing my hair... the first round I thought..man this shampoo isn't lathering very well, so second round, figured I needed MORE. Still didn't lather all that well, but whatever. Then when I went to get the soap to wash...I thought...wait...did I JUST USE THE SOAP TO WASH MY HAIR? YEP! I sure did.. no wonder it was weird! ugh! I've really lost some major brain cells in the last year. I don't know if I can aford to lose any more. Next thing you know, I'll be shaving my head instead of my legs! lol

OK..with that I'm off...Eric has his first reserve duty thisweekend (has to be there at 6:45 am!), so I'm on my own all day tomorrow and can't sleep in like usual.

New release and other updates

First, some design update:

I've been working the last few days to finish the element pack for Spring Free.
Spring Free elements to be added to my store at digiscrappin.biz today. These elements coordinate with my Spring Free papers already in the store. If you haven't picked up the papers yet, you can get the whole kit also for a reduced price.

Scrapping & Weekend Activities

~ Sunday
I scrapped another page Sunday night too - thanks to Sonya's sketch chat at SBB! I took the girls to a baseball game on Sunday afternoon. Eric had gotten free tickets from work, but then he had to work Sunday, so I went ahead and braved it on my own so we could get out of the apartment and enjoy sometime outdoors. We didn't stay the whole game, but we had a pretty good time and the girls loved getting out of the house for a little while.

~Saturday
Satuday was Eric's only day off last week, so we made sure to take advantage of the day and fill it with errands and a few fun activities. In the morning Eric took Alyssa to a "trial" class of Karate. She absolutely looooved it, and we'd love to sign her up, but it was $100 a month and you have to sign a 1 year contract! We just can't see spending that much on her for Karate at this age, and the contract really makes me nervous. I could just see 3 months down the road she's tired of it and I'm still paying $100/month for another 9 months! BUT...we checked out the local community center, and if we get a family membership she can take Tae Kwon Do lessons there for free (I was inTae Kwon Do for 2 years when we lived in Korea - did you know I have my black belt??? I DO..REALLY...but yes, it has been 15-20 years since I got it and did anything with it lol)...anway... If we don't get the family membership the lessons are only $40 a month - WAAAAY cheaper than $100, so I think this is probably what we're going to do. I think we're actually going to get a membership because she can take gymnastics lessons, swimming, sports, etc... there too.

The afternoon was filled with buying MORE school uniforms (yep, she still needed another couple shirts and pants, and one more jumper - and this time the bill wasn't so CHEAP! agggh) and running errands.

On Saturday evening we went to water park (at that same community center where the Tae Kwon Do classes are). The school where Alyss will be going had a back to school private party at park in the evening. We were a little hesitant to go since it was going to be in the 70s and 60s by the time the party was scheduled, and Eric and Kyleigh both had colds...but we went ahead and went for a little bit. The water was heated so it wasn't too bad at all for about the first hour. After about an hour though, Ky was just shivering, so we cut the night short and came home. As we arrived, Ky noticed the water falls and sprays while we were walking up to the gate and her eyes just became huge, her mouth dropped open in a biiiig grin and she practically drug Eric trying to run to it all. It was sooo cute. I didn't get a picture of it, but it is certainly a moment I won't forget. I did get a few other cute pictures of her playing in the water though before the camera battery died and I went to play in the way with everyone too. We'll have to get that family membership so we can go to the park more in the future (when it's warm outside).

Kyleigh actually is also in this picture of Alyssa coming down the slide. The splash was so big though that she is hidden! She loved going down the slide in Alyssa's lap. That kid really has NO FEAR!

And, finally....today and to do..

Well, today I am just pooped from staying up way too late the last couple of nights, so one thing for sure on today's list NAP while Kyleigh naps. hehe
I HAVE to get some work done on the OPA webpage today and my monthly report and then ifI still have time left today I'll get started on my design todo list:

Work on Collaboration kits
Freebies for my first crop as an official DTM as SBB (this Friday at 11 PM EST)
CT call announcement
Elements for "Summer Fun"
Other new element packs coming soon...
Templates I have coming soon.....

Well...I'm off for now.... to handle yet another day of excitement lol.. why is it my children LOVE to empty drawers of clothing and squeel all the time?? ugh lol

later gators!

scrapped a page tonight! whoo hooo..it's been a while. I did this page tonight for Lisa's Quote Crop at SBB! I loved this quote and thought it was great for all the cousins recently over July 4 weekend, acting silly when I was taking their pictures. :-) Credits:

I know I'm behind this week on blogging....been a busy busy week...

quick update:

Our house in TX is FINALLY under contract with an expected closing date THIS MONTH on the same date we expect to close here. The buyer wants to try and close sooner, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that he does to make the closing here smoother. So, in about 2 weeks we should be closing on both houses and MOVING!!!!

I registered Alyssa for school today - wow! I wasn't expecting another $264 in registration fees ontop of tuition! YIKES! She sure better get a REALLY good education out of this private thing. lol BUT..I did shop through the "used" uniforms and got a REALLy good deal on that. I got 4 shirts, 5 shorts, 3 pants, and 1 jumper for $29! whooo hooo lol Man I spent a couple hundred last year just for uniforms in TX and of course they can't be used here (here they do blue pants and there we had beige)... oh well

We've all been having Dr. appts this week getting established with new doctors...nothing too exciting there! lol

This weekend the school is having a back to school party at a water park, so that should be fun for both girls, and Eric will be off to go with us. He's also taking Alyssa Saturday morning to try Karate! Should be interesting to see if she's still interested after her first trial class. Eric also got tickets for the local baseball team's game for Sunday, but..he has to work so I'm not sure yet if I'll attempt that by myself with the girls.

Designer news:
I have a few new things in my store at digiscrappin.biz, and another kit going in soon. I'll post previews later. I'm working on a collaborative collection of 6 kits with two other designers that I expect to be released before the end of this month. AND...I'll be holding my very first CT call in the next few days, so be watching for that. :-)

Thats it for tonight..I've been up too late too many nights. Tomorrow I'm supposed to take Alyssa to the local scrapbook store in the morning while Eric is here to stay with Kyleigh. We're making a book for her of her friends back in Corpus Christi, and she's learning to scrap!! :-) She told me I better not stay up all night on the computer and then sleep in late tomorrow! hahaha welll...I already stayed up late, so I guess I better get the 2nd part right.

Night....
